Q: Please tell us a bit about yourself and your family.
Hi, I’m Krista and I’ve been a Bucks County resident for most of my life. My awesome husband and I just celebrated our 15-year anniversary, and we have two busy boys (6 and 8) who certainly keep us on our toes. I graduated from Council Rock before the split. I played field hockey and lacrosse in high school and then went on to play lacrosse at Millersville University where I studied Communications. After Millersville I went to graduate school at East Stroudsburg University where I received my Health and Physical Education certification K-12 and Master of Education. From there I took my first teaching job in Central Dauphin School District in the Harrisburg area. After a few years I went back to school yet again to get my Principal Certification and my English as a Second Language Certificate.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career.
I actually made the decision to go into education after coming home from college summer breaks and working with kids at Northampton Township Parks and Rec Quest camps as a counselor then camp leader. It was there that my love for working with children grew. Upon finishing graduate school, I became a teacher. After many successful years as a Health and Physical Education teacher in a traditional school setting (Central Dauphin) and varsity lacrosse coach, I made the scary jump to teaching in a cyber school setting. I say ‘scary’ because this was way before covid, and people didn’t know about virtual education. I have now been working in this environment for 9 years and have learned so much and feel blessed every day to do what I do. My current role is an Elementary Assistant Principal at Reach Cyber Charter School, a tuition free, public school serving over 7,200 students in grades K-12 across the state of Pennsylvania. I get to work with families, students and teachers!
Q: What do you love most about what you do?
I love that I get to work with such a diverse group of students and families. Since our students are from all across the state, they all bring such incredible experiences to the table, and we are able to learn something new from them every day. I also love working with my incredible teachers. They are truly masters at what they do and work so hard to give every single student an equal and accessible education.
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Oishi, Ota-ya, Vecchia Osteria, Bacco, Churchville Inn, and Johnny Apples

Q: What is a “Must do” for someone visiting our community?
Take a stroll through Newtown to get some good food and good shopping, hit up Peddler’s Village, go to Shady Brook, take the kids to Kids Castle and then go walk around Doylestown.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Lately my dream is to start exploring our National Parks. We have so many incredible places to visit here in our own country that I would like to start doing that for travel versus going out of the country.

Not a big movie person, but really love documentaries and crime shows. My husband will hate this, but I will admit that I do love some good reality TV as well.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Don’t sweat the small stuff, find the good in all, and give people grace.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?

Q: What is your favorite band or music genre?
I love so many different types of music, but my all-time favorite would be Oldies which remind me of my childhood.
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I would love to have lunch with my college friends. It’s been a while and we always have a blast together. We would probably go to Iron Hill or Warwick Farm if the weather was nice.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
My favorite thing about our community is our neighborhood and our kids’ school. Our neighborhood is jam packed with awesome families and kids and our children’s school has an incredible principal and staff. We are super blessed to live in such a great community.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
In the same role career-wise and still super busy with boys and activities.
Q: What is something interesting that even your friends of family may not know about you?
