Q: Please tell us a bit about yourself.
Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. I moved to Bucks County in 2004 with the love of my life who was originally from NE Philly. Although we met out in AZ, he missed his family on the East Coast and had moved back before we became a thing. Once we decided that this was forever, we knew one of us had to move across the country. Once I came out to visit, I was sold. I loved it in Bucks County. It is beautiful, so much history, diversity and so close to so many city centers. Plus, I grew up land-locked and now I’m only an hour from the Jersey Shore! So, we moved to Newtown where we started our family. I have never looked back. Love visiting AZ but my heart is home in PA.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My husband Jack is the best person I know. He works from home most of the time in sales for an international lab company. He is an amazing dad and husband. We have two great kids: Jacob is 15 and a freshman at CR South, Livia is 12 and a 6th grader at Holland Elementary. Somehow these kids seem so much further ahead in life than I ever was at their age. My parents: Ray and Sally are recently retired from private practice in AZ and joined us here in Bucks County. My dad is a psychologist who pioneered treatment of eating disorders and has many areas of specialty. My mom is a social worker who specialized in brain and spinal injuries. She helped change legislation when it comes to treatment for those types of injuries. My sister has been on the east coast since 2005. She and her husband are both incredibly talented painters who teach college art at Bunker Hill Community College outside Boston, MA. They have two extremely bright, sweet kids: Jude (10) and Anya (8). My husband, Jack, has two older sisters and 4 nieces. I am a lucky aunt to have such awesome, talented nieces. My sister in law Jill is a 6th grade teacher for North Penn SD and my sister Jen owns Rococo for Men in Southampton. My In-laws, Bobbi and Nelson live in Yardley. Nelson has a colorful past as the former General Manager for KYW Radio. He has interviewed an amazing array of celebrities and important historical figures.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career.
I won’t bore you with my history but, I have always loved art and being creative so when I moved out to PA, I started doing decorative painting for my friends and family and Lexart, LLC was born. For 10 years I had a successful interior decorating company where I offered services such as color consultation, personal shopping, interior decorating, window treatments, layout and design, and murals and decorative paint services. I had always been interested in real estate. I took licensing classes when I was 19 in AZ and purchased my first property at the age of 21. It felt like full circle back to what I love when I decided to get my real estate license in 2014. This is my life’s work and I absolutely LOVE it! I not only have a wonderful team of talented, caring women who work with me, but I also coach newly licensed realtors. I love supporting newer agents in building their businesses and be professional assets for their clients.
Q: What do you love most about what you do?
Many people think of realtors as slimy salesman. I see it as an opportunity to educate and empower people to create not only wealth but also to create a better lifestyle. Where and how you live can change how you feel about life. I love helping people find better solutions. And, I am a natural networker, I love bringing people together!
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Ok, I love food. I love so many local places… being from AZ, Mexican food is always a fave so I tend to favor Las Margaritas in Southampton. I also love El Barrio. Some other favorites are: Oishi, Cafe Madison, Jakes, Pats Colonial Kitchen, Langhorne Coffee House, Moish and Itzy’s, Tonys Bar and Grill, 59 Almshouse, Jersey’s Pizza, Cafe Con Leche, Sycamore Grill, Iron Oven, Churchville Inn… Did I mention I love food?
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
Been in Bucks since 2004. My husband and I lived in a townhouse in Newtown for a few years and then bought our forever home in 2008 in Holland where we still reside. He still misses the townhouse, but this community is a hidden gem.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
It is hard to narrow to one person. I find that there are so many people who have so much history in the area and so many that are so giving. One person I really admire is Dr. Andy Sanko. He was my oldest child’s first principal and from day one knew every parent’s name and their children. I thought that was impressive. He set the tone for an amazing elementary experience and now the Council Rock School District is lucky to have him as their leader.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I always wanted to visit Turks and Caicos. But I would go anywhere with a beach, warm sun and clear waters.
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
I love all kinds of shows… some of my favorites are Ted Lasso, Six Feet Under, Dexter, Shameless, Handmaids Tale, Outlander. Even though the majority of those are pretty dark, I love comedies too. And I am always up for 80’s movies. Goonies for life.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Don’t sweat the small stuff, and most of it is small stuff. People worry too much about what they can’t control. It’s hard not to, but it won’t change the outcome.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
I would ultimately like to build affordable housing in Bucks County aimed towards the elderly. There are really limited choices if you are older and want to downsize in Bucks County. Most people can’t afford the 55+ option.
Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
I am always happy when Journey comes on the radio, my kids, not so much! I wasn’t blessed with a singing voice.
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I would choose Frank Murphy. He is my daughter’s sixth grade teacher and also happens to be a writer. He has written dozens of children’s books and is somewhat of a local celebrity. I feel like he has so much passion for the kids and for teaching and would love to get to know him better. I would take him to Churchville Inn and buy him a rack of ribs and a drink.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I always say, “I moved 3000 miles from home and the world shrunk exponentially.” Everyone knows everyone here; I feel anonymous in AZ but not here. I love the deep roots and sense of community here.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Still in Real Estate. Would like to own 10 investment properties and work with a builder to develop affordable housing.
Q: What is something interesting that even your friends of family may not know about you?
I think most of my friends and family know it, but I have a very dark sense of humor. I can be morbid and a bit twisted. I love to laugh and will laugh at the silliest things. I often crack myself up.
Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Greece. Santorini was amazing.
Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
Favorite month is March. It’s when everything that looks dead comes back to life. I love Christmas- it’s a magical day with the kids.
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
Seeing my kids happy and independent.
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My husband. He is so selfless and giving and makes me feel like I can always do more in life.
Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
Lavender and Cinnamon
