Q: Tell me about yourself and your family.

My name is Galina Levin Tsypis, and I’ve lived in Holland, Pennsylvania for the past ten years. My journey began in Belarus, where I was born. In 1981, my family emigrated to the United States. We settled in Northeast Philadelphia, where I was raised. My parents are my greatest role models—hardworking, selfless, and determined. They left everything familiar behind to build a better life for us, and their example has shaped who I am today.

After graduating from Northeast High School, I pursued a career in healthcare, earning a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University and later completing my clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Arcadia University.

I’ve been married for 20 years, and together, my husband and I have three wonderful children. Our daughter Gabriella is currently studying Speech-Language Pathology at The College of New Jersey, and our twin boys, Julian and Jacob, are juniors at Council Rock High School South. We live in a multigenerational home, where my elderly parents, now 88 and 92, also reside with us. It’s been such a blessing to see the close bond between my children and their grandparents, who are part of our everyday lives. And of course, our bernadoodle Max is very much a part of the family, too.

As for how my husband and I met—it’s actually kind of a funny story. We had a lot of mutual friends but had never crossed paths. One day, I stopped by a party, not even as a guest—just to say hello. He happened to be there, we started talking, and the rest is history!

Q: Tell me about your past, present, and future career.

I’m a physical therapist with many years of experience across various patient care settings, including nearly 20 years at MossRehab—the very place where I first volunteered as a high school senior. During the pandemic, I saw an opportunity to help people more personally and opened LevinWell Fitness & Rehab in Feasterville, Pennsylvania.

LevinWell offers skilled physical and occupational therapy, wellness classes for adults, and mobile therapy services, bringing care directly to patients’ homes. In addition to general therapy, we provide specialized programs:

  • Parkinson’s Program: Therapy and wellness services for individuals living with Parkinson’s Disease and other movement disorders. I also lead a monthly support group for patients and their partners.
  • Twisted Spine Program: Focused on scoliosis, kyphosis, and other spinal curvatures, this program uses Schroth Therapy delivered by a certified Schroth Physical Therapist to help individuals manage posture and back pain conservatively.

Currently, I’m the full-time therapist at LevinWell, supported by a passionate team of per diem therapists. We are planning future expansions of our gym and services so—stay tuned!

Q: What do you love most about what you do?

I love being a clinician today as much as I loved it when I first began practicing many years ago. I enjoy the genuine connections I make with people as I help them navigate through their own physical and functional challenges. I enjoy seeing people meet the goals of their therapy. I enjoy working in a rehabilitative team environment where I can offer my expertise and see my patients be successful in negotiating through their everyday lives.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?

I have limited time to watch television, but when I do, I catch up on episodes of ‘The Shark Tank.’ It amazes me the innovation, creativity, confidence and ambition some people have to see their ideas through. I have two favorite movies: ‘Dirty Dancing’ because it takes me back a time when I was in school. My other favorite movie is “Inside Out.’ I love the way this movie identifies simple and complex emotions. Although this movie is animated and made for a younger audience, I think adults could use a lesson in identifying their emotions to be better equipped to process life’s nuances.

Q: What advice would you give to people?

My general advice is simple: seize the day. Take every opportunity to do what you love, enjoy life, and always be kind—small acts of kindness go a long way.

As a physical therapist, I constantly remind people how important posture is. Poor posture can cause a wide range of issues, from neck and back pain to foot problems. I believe posture education should start early, in schools, to prevent future problems. Everyone has a spine—and everyone benefits from taking care of it.

Q: What is your favorite band or music genre?

My favorite music comes from 1980’s and 1990’s, it’s the music I grew up with.

Q: If you could choose anyone who is alive today, with whom would you love to have lunch with? Why? And where locally would you all meet for lunch?

I would love to have lunch with my mom, her younger, more active, vibrant and vivacious self. We would go to Mt. Fuji in Southampton for a sushi lunch and to catch up on the news in our lives.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

My 5-10 year plan includes expanding my health and wellness practice and empowering people to live at their optimal level.

Q: What is something interesting that even your friends or family may not know about you?

When I was in school I enjoyed drawing and painting. To this day it is my therapeutic outlet.

Q: What is your favorite holiday?

Winter holidays are my favorite time to spend with family and friends. It is a time to share in with family and friends and welcome in the New Year with a promise of new hope.

Q: What are some of your favorite local spots—restaurants, parks, or just must-dos?

Yeah! Some of my favorite places to go—especially with my family—are parks. I love Tyler State Park. I also really enjoy Pennypack Creek Park. Both are great for spending time outdoors and just relaxing.

I also love visiting Newtown. I enjoy walking through the borough—it has such a charming, historic vibe and this small-town atmosphere that feels really safe and inviting. It’s clean, peaceful, and just a really nice place to spend an afternoon.

As for restaurants, my family and I love Rocco’s in Newtown. We go there pretty often. I also like Bacco Centro in Richboro—it has a really laid-back atmosphere, and it’s our go-to spot for Italian takeout. It’s cozy and always hits the spot.

Q: What is your favorite place you have traveled and where is next on your list?

My family and I love to travel and have explored many parts of the world. Our most recent trip was to England, and that was very enjoyable. My favorite destination, though, is Greece—both the mainland and the islands—where I love the atmosphere, culture, hospitality, and history. It’s the perfect mix of vibrant city life and total relaxation, and a place I always want to return to.

Next on our travel list is France. I’ve visited a few times before and even got engaged atop the Eiffel Tower, so it would be really special to experience it again with my kids. Travel has always been a passion of mine—immersing myself in new cultures, art, and architecture is incredibly therapeutic and helps me decompress.

I would also love to do a cross-country U.S. road trip. I’ve seen much of the country, but I’d love to take a few weeks to explore it properly with my children, visiting landmarks like the Gateway Arch and Golden Gate Bridge. It’s a big dream we hope to make happen soon.

Q: Who inspires you to be your best?
My kids—absolutely. They inspire me every single day to be the best version of myself. I don’t always get it right, but I certainly try. Watching them go through life, learning and growing, reminds me that I’m doing the same, just from a different stage. They’re my greatest motivation.

Q: What are one or two of your favorite smells?.

For me, one of my favorite smells is actually from the ET ride at Universal Studios. It’s such a specific scent—this mix of forest, earth, and something nostalgic. We used to go to Universal often when my kids were younger, and every time I smell that particular scent, it transports me back to those magical moments. My daughter and I still laugh about it, but it’s such a powerful reminder of the joy we shared as a family.

Q: What words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
